Crticial X(Private)

Xanthus whipped out his transmitter as he ran and said into it, "This is Xanthus at the Meguro high school grounds! We got an S class vampire on the grounds themselves! I need some back up immediately! Also get some specialists out here to secure and barrier off the area! This is not a drill! I'll hold them off for as long as I can!" He then shoved his transmitter into his pocket and ran as fast as he could.

Back at headquarters the alarms had gone off almost immediately from the state of of emergency. Mana was running down the halls saying, "Move it people! This isn't the time for you people to be flooding the halls!" He stopped Seeing Zane walk up. "Sir what do we do! Who do we send!" Said Mana firmly. "This happened at a terrible time. Everyone's tied up out of the region and in various cities at the moment. You got and be swift about it." Ordered Zane. "Yes sir!" Said Mana vanishing fast. "I didn't think they'd be this bold to send out their strongest for one underage girl. I guess this means they know how dangerous she is. Said Zane with a sigh.

Xanthus meanwhile had reached the location. Seeing Rei laying there unconscious he saw the S ranking vampire about to finish her. "DON'T YOU TOUCH HER!!" He screamed and Rei's attacker looked up that moment. He just held out one finger and Xanthus went flying and crashed into the fence about forty yards away. "When you got flies use a fly swatter I always say. Now then where was I?" He said as he went back for Rei.

Xanthus on the other hand was struggling to get out of the mess of the wires. The vampire who had dodged Cole's attack had shot back forward quite fast but Mana appeared that moment and it was as if two steels beams had collided with each other that moment. Neither was over powered by each other that moment as Mana was blocking him. He had a big grin on his face as he said, "Long time no see. What brings you here Dragoth?"

Dragoth on the other hand moved back fast. "I wasn't expecting you Mana. Honestly you're the last person I really want to fight. So the assassination will come later." He then flashed out of sight and vanished. The area became much lighter and Xanthus came limping up holding his arm. Which had been mangled up and broken in several places. "Damn it! What the hell am I! I'm useless that's what!" Yelled Xanthus. He then fell forward blacking out.

They had gone back to HQ. Xanthus had been rushed to the medical area. Joel couldn't believe how Xanthus survived with this many broken bones. Rei was not hurt thankfully. As Joel was working on Xanthus. Xanthus opened his eyes and sat up fast. He pushed Joel back and said, "Leave me... How's Rei?"

"She's fine but you on the other hand. How you going to heal up fast enough?" Asked Joel. "Isn't it obvious there's only one way for him to be back on his feet quick enough." Said Mana. Xanthus put a hole in the wall by him and said, "No fucking way in hell! We've been through this a thousand times! I will not stoop to their levels! Even if the person you bring is a damn mass murderer! I still won't do it! I will not take a soul even if I die because of it!"

The doors opened and Zane came walking in. "How long do you think you'll be out of commission?" Asked Zane. "Hard to say... maybe a week so my arm can reconstruct itself. I'm sorry I snapped but I'm extremely touchy on that subject. Just the thought of doing that makes me sick." Said Xanthus softly.

"I appreciate your help. We need you alive so try not to push yourself." Said Zane. "I know I won't die. Not until I get my blasted memory back and end this." Said Xanthus.

Meanwhile in the depths of an underground region. Dragoth was seen walking through what appeared to be underground tunnels. "You dare to come back after your complete failure!" Asked a sharp voice making him stop. He turned and looked at the female vampire. "What you call a failure I call taking it seriously Lilith. You know very well as I do that this is supposed to be done with caution. I should have known that traitor was with her and the fact he called for back up and sent the last person who I needed to fight. It kind of complicated things." Said Dragoth.

Cole was outside with Akira as they had a very awkward silent moment. both outside leaning on a wall near the doorway. Cole was watching over Xanthus and Rei while Akira was guarding his charge, Zane. Yet neither of them said a word to one another...

Cole just closed his eyes resting his eyes a bit.

Akira finally broke the silence as he opened his eyes. "why didn't you transform... you could have beaten him." he said.

"No... the child has not yet awoken to her powers... I won't do it till she brings out her Critical X... besides... this is new to her... right now it is up to Xanthus... not me." he said not making eye contact.

Akira just huffed... "JUst like you mother."

"I take it I came at a bad time?" Asked Kai softly as he walked up. He finally said, "Who died? I've had this pit in my stomach since she left three days ago." Said Kai looking paler then usual. Mana came walking out and said, "Nobody yet but Xanthus nearly had his arm ripped off. I believe you came for your migraine medicine? Joel told me to give it to you." Mana tossed the bottle to Kai who caught it saying, "Trust me I felt it all the way out here. If that's an S class I hate to see what the big man himself is like. Tell Joel I said thanks." Said Kai walking off.

Zane came walking out a second after that and Xanthus followed after him saying, "You're joking right? We can't just keep her prisoner in here." "Look I didn't want to be seen as heartless and cold so I let her go for the time being. I gave her the freedom she wanted and that was the wrong thing to do. I should have known that they'd try and send someone like that to kill her. We can't risk it. My order stands if she flees detain and lock her up. Or better yet bring her to me so she can hear it from me how dangerous this is for her." Said Zane.

He then walked off and Xanthus looked back at Rei who was still unconscious.

As Cole was walking down the hall way he suddenly collided with a female oracle who had come around the corner carrying a tall stack of papers. She landed on her rear and the papers had all gone flying scattering everywhere. "Oh no it took me forever to organize these! I"ll have to start all over!" Whined Kaya banging her head to the wall by her. She looked up seeing Cole that moment. Her face turning bright pink she jumped up fast and quickly snatched them all up saying, "I'm so sorry! Gotta run bye!" Grabbing the rest she sped around the hall way corner and vanished probably leaving Cole in quite a confusion.

Kaya had made it back to her work space quickly reorganizing the files she had scattered. "Oh Kaya your boyfriends on his way here." Teased one of her friends making her blush. "Knock it off Lori he's not my boyfriend." Said Kaya. As the door opened that moment and when Cole walked in Kaya just froze up her face beet red. She stood there petrified as he walked up.

Kaya's legs gave out the moment Cole was gone and Lori was forced to catch her. Getting her into a chair Lori fanned Kaya and said, "Breathe! Breathe don't die on me now Kaya!"

Back in the cafeteria the cooks went to work fast and got Cole his food. The door opened and Rei came walking in looking around. Xanthus was by her side his arm now in a cast and sling. "Are you sure... nobody else got hurt because of me besides you?" Asked Rei softly feeling guilty this whole mess had happened. "No now quit making a fuss my arm will be fine in a week. Go get some food I'm sure you're starving." Said Xanthus.

"I hope you decide to work off that weight after you eat Cole." Said Xanthus. "That's hardly what I call a meal." Said Rei as she came with a tray of her own food. "And what you have is?" Asked Xanthus. "I just choose not to over stuff myself at the moment. But what he's having is what I eat for breakfast mainly. Or more." Said Rei taking a seat.

"Well I do and whether you want to believe me or not is your choice." Said Rei as she ate her pizza. It was after her meal a woman in a white lab coat came walking up saying, "You're Rei right?" "Yeah can I help you?" Asked Rei standing up. "This is Kimiko she's going to be helping you bring out your power so you can actually fend for yourself." Said Xanthus standing up. "I left the sword you gave me back at my place though..." Said Rei softly.

"No worries I made Adel go fetch it for you. It's waiting for you in the training area so let's go with Kimiko here." Said Xanthus. Rei nodded and and she followed Kimiko with Xanthus walking behind her. Reaching the training area Kimiko said, "I have a method already in mind for making you tap your power. I'll be putting you through a simulation program that makes you experience a real fight. Now we already know at first glance you'll freeze up in fear as most people do. So the targets won't be fighting back. Your objective is to take as many out in under a sixty second period so you following so far?" Asked Kimiko.

Re was handed her sword by Xanthus and she said, "I guess all I have to do is to use this against them right?" "Exactly and perhaps by doing this many times will bring out that power you have. That sword is meant to forcefully draw it out of you." Said Kimiko.

As Kimiko led Rei to the training simulator she said step in here onto the center platform. Once the door closed the lights turned on and Rei walked to the center drawing the sword from the sheath she sighed wondering why she agreed to even do this.

"Alright can you hear me Rei?" Asked Kimiko once she got into the observation area along with Cole and Xanthus. "Yes loud and clear. Oh and I don't want to be treated like a child Kimiko. I lived on the streets most my life so you can have whatever attack me. I don't feel like standing here whacking immobilized people." Said Rei.

Kimiko looked at Xanthus who said, "Set the danger level to C ranking. I bet you she can handle that just fine." "Are you positive you do realize the dangers in this are real she could get hurt." Said Kimiko. "I know what I'm doing." Said Xanthus.

"Alright the simulation will start in ten seconds Rei." Said Kimiko to her. As the ten seconds went by the area dimmed and Rei suddenly found herself standing in a dark alley way. She just sighed and said, "I can't believe I'm doing this for you people."

She suddenly gasped when something grabbed her ankle. She was fast to jerk her foot away away as a vampire came out from a shadowed area. He ran toward her and Rei tried to move back but stumbled back and ended up ramming her sword through him either way when he ran into it.

"Remember Rei on all missions you must tread cautiously and finish as quickly as possible. To you everyone is the enemy. Now keep your eyes open." Said Xanthus as his voice echoed around her.

Kimiko just watched as Rei walked her way through the simulated area. "She's managed to kill three so far that came at her. So she's not doing too bad. Her sword skills are impressive but a little clumsy because this isn't a practice blade. It's much heavier. We'll need to work on that along with drawing her power out." Said Kimiko as she took down some notes.

Rei continued running through the simulated city alley way. "OK Rei things are about to pick up for you now. Remember stay focused." She heard Xanthus say that moment.

When Zane came walking in the observation area Xanthus stood up fast. "I want a reading the moment she utilizes her power for the first time. Alright Kimiko?" Said Zane. "Of course sir." Said Kimiko.

Zane then focused on Rei who was now slaughtering them as they jumped out at her. She said, "These guys are too easy. I guess all those days of playing video games really paid off. Who would have guessed."

Though when the area suddenly started to feel heavy Rei's face paled. And she froze up again. She remembered this feeling from her last attack.


"Something's wrong the system it's stopped responding." Said Kimiko as she typed rapidly trying to regain control. "Holy shit the danger level has suddenly been changed up to S rank! Get her out of there Kimiko!" Said Xanthus. "I'm trying the system won't listen to me!" Cried Kimiko.

Inside the simulator Rei found herself face to face with the source of the heavy power. The vampire had a grin on his face. He shot toward Rei that moment. Rei grit her teeth and ran toward him with a loud yell. Her sword flared up as he clashed with her.


"Hold it Kimiko. I want a reading right now." Ordered Zane quickly. "She's going to be killed if we don't get her out of there Zane!" Said Xanthus. "Look again." Said Zane and Xanthus was startled at what he saw. Rei was actually holding off the S ranking enemy. Kimiko took the reading fast and her face paled. "Zane look! Her power it's off the charts! It's even past your level! This machine must be broken!"

"No it's not." Said Zane calmly. Though an explosion rocked the area that moment and their vision of Rei was clouded. When it cleared the simulation had shut down and she was standing back in the center of the platform looking worn but unharmed. Xanthus quickly bolted out of the observation room and to where Rei was. Zane walked after him and after Xanthus pried to the door open Rei walked out saying, "Phew that was intense. I didn't expect you guys to spring a fast one of me like that. And why's he here?" She pointed at Zane.

"Fool you have no idea of the danger you were really in." Said Xanthus.

Kai came walking up that moment as he said, "Well I hope your happy Zane. I had to tell Kimiko and she's flipping mad you had me trash her system. It'll take weeks and a full reboot to be rid the virus I stuck in here. And that's with me fixing this mess." "I knew they'd go easy on her so that's why I had you do this." Said Zane. "You're telling me you totally put me at risk just to make me crack my power?" Asked Rei looking at Zane a bit irritated.

She then walked by and slapped a hand to his back leaving a burn mark purposely. A loud yell was heard through the area and Zane was rubbing his back saying, "I can see she's already going to be a handful for you Xanthus." "You're a moron who deserved that. Then again I think you purposely let her hit you." Said Xanthus. "To be blunt I didn't know she was going to exactly do that." Said Zane.

Xanthus rolled his eyes and walked after Rei. Zane ducked fast as a coffee mug went whizzing over his head and Kimiko who was stomping toward him pissed seem to freak him out because he vanished quite fast and Kimiko yelled, "I know you can hear me you ass! Touch my systems again I don't care who you are I'll slap you senseless!!" Kai was laughing loudly until Kimiko rounded on him and he seem to run for it after that catching up with Xanthus and Rei.
